About Sparrow Loop
Last updated 18 Sep 2026
Sparrow Loop is a working notebook for crochet in the round. It deals with one subject: how stitch counts, round numbers, increase placement and closing actually work once you stop turning your work and start going round and round.
Every entry answers one specific question and gives the specific numbers — which round, how many stitches, which stitch the increase goes into. We do not write "try adding a few stitches", because that is exactly the sentence nobody wants to read at eleven at night with three rounds to undo.
Entries come in two kinds. A question works through one failure — "why has my circle turned into a hexagon". A pattern is a complete chart you can work from directly, with hook size, yarn, gauge, the stitch count of every round, and the finishing steps.
The site is independently run. There are no guest posts, no affiliate links and no sponsored copy. It is paid for by the advertising slots on the page. Everything here is written in-house and the stitch counts are checked by hand before an entry goes up.
If a chart does not add up, or an answer does not hold on the yarn you are using, write to [email protected] and we will check it and correct the page.
